Gill is a Cape Town-based food stylist who has worked in many different mediums of the industry for the last 30 years. Having studied photography after leaving school, and having spent a few years in the manufacturing and design world of the fashion industry, it was inevitable that her path would lead her into styling. Here she could combine her keen visual eye and unique style with complete freedom. She has been the fashion editor for two leading South African magazines and has worked on many different advertising campaigns and TV commercials here and abroad. Merging her all round skills, years of experience and great eye for detail with her passion for cooking, she made the move into the world of food styling effortlessly. When she is not on set or in the kitchen prepping for a shoot, you will most probably find her trawling markets and auction houses, busy scouting out some more treasures for her prop's room. Gill's approach to food styling is organic and uncomplicated, enhancing the foods natural qualities, rather than being artificial and synthetic.
